About Us

Here at Home Skillet, we love making food tasty, playful, and interesting. We try to keep things short, sweet and to the point, but always have fun in the process. We enjoy all cuisines, and we don't like to limit ourselves with categories and labels. As far as we're concerned, the wonders of cooking are one, big, fluid and limitless continuum of flavors and experiences, just waiting to be explored. A world where failure and success are equally exciting. Of course, we try to only expose you to the actual successes... We welcome you to come by any time, feel free to make any of our recipes, leave a comment, and if you'd like to get updates automatically, use one of the follow methods on the right side of the blog. If you have any questions or comments that you'd like to send to us privately, feel free to email us at the address below. Don’t be a stranger!

Jenn Kendall
Hi, my name is Jenn, and I love to be in the kitchen. I live in Southern California with my husband Seth, our toddler, and two cats. I have no culinary training, but I spend most of my time poring through cookbooks and experimenting with recipes. I also have a BA in International Area Studies (minor in German), and a MS in Science, Technology, Society, but you would be surprised how little these subjects come up in the kitchen... Other interests include politics, feminism, chocolate, eggnog, beer and wine, arts and crafts, and reading.  I am obsessed with chapstick, and I am known for hiding it in inconspicuous places so it is always within reach!

Seth Kendall
The trusty sidekick. The web lackey. The wannabe photographer. The eager taster. The harsh critic. The brainstorm buddy.  The grill master. The deep fryer. The all-too-common complainer. The editor. The distractor. These are all words you might use to describe me and my contributions to the Home Skillet Cooking Blog, my favorite blog! I think Jenn is a genius with flavors, and I feel really honored to just be a part of the team! During the week, and occasionally the weekend, I work as a character animator in the video games industry; however, during all those little moments and hours I’m not working, distracting Jenn, playing with toddler-nugget-boy, or occasionally indulging in the fruits of the industry in which I work, I am a complete food lover. I obsessively read every comment you guys write, I find even my limited role in our cooking operation to be thrilling, and I am a big fan of the food blogger scene as a whole. I’m truly excited to see where we all take the medium over the next several decades.
